A Two Penny Party Cookie Exchange!

Ready or not, here come the holidays! Instead of toiling away in the kitchen for hours on end just to make a glorious assortment of cookies, why not add in a dash of fun and host a cookie exchange instead? Over the next few weeks I'll be posting my two penny tips on hosting a stress-free, simple, shabby chic-themed cookie exchange. I've even found lots of fabulous etsy sellers who can help you with your decorations and I can't wait to introduce you to them! Let's start with the guest list and invitation.

Guest List:
I find it's best to have at least ten busy bee bakers attend. That way you get a better assortment of cookies to feed Santa with!

Be sure to inject lots of fun and merriment in your invitations to get your guests in the holiday mood! Websites like punchbowl.com and paperlesspost.com have tons of brilliant designs to fit your party's decor! Here's one I sent out recently. Feel free to tweak it as needed.
I'm hosting a holiday cookie exchange at my house this year! I hope you can make it!

The Yummy Rules:

Bake 2 dozen of your favorite cookies (EXCEPT CHOCOLATE CHIP!) and bring them to the party. You can then snack and swap those with your fellow gal pals for a variety of others to create a delicious, assorted platter to take home! Be sure to bring copies of your recipe to share with your fellow cookie aficionados too. Fan favorite will win a prize!

I'll have plenty of nog, milk, tea and coffee to go with the cookies as well as some holiday music to get you in the spirit and feel free to wear green/red, blue/silver or whatever holiday colors share your mood...
See? That was short and sweet. Just like a cookie! Stay tuned for more tips and treats!
