Watching me trudge through my mornings on days when I'm sleep deprived must be like watching an elephant try to knit. Frustrating for all parties involved. That's why I'm always thankful for the existence of my local coffee shop, which today, was Starbucks. As I was waiting for my latte (extra-super caffinated, of course) these tiny little Starbucks Reserve take home cards caught my eye. I love that they're not covered with the Starbucks mermaid logo, but are understated and cute.
Delightfully retro, I immediately thought, "These would make the most adorable refrigerator magnets to include in a coffee gift basket!" What I'm about to show you is so ridiculously easy I almost feel guilty sharing it. Almost.
I took one of each card, added magnetic tape (purchased at my local craft store for $2.00 a roll, natch) to the back, and voila! Adorable magnets!
Using this (unbelievably easy) technique, here is one more (almost free) idea: Visit your local hardware store and using the sample paint swatches, make magnets for a housewarming gift. You can even choose the colors based on the names and match them to your recipients' personalities!
